XPON Wireless today announces the launch of its XGS 10Gbps wireless network upgrade. Deployment of the service was completed at the end of March with the upgrade of the core network through Peplink. Utilising the Peplink SDX platform, the solution offers business customers access to its 10Gbps Internet services and SD-WAN platform. Multi-Links, back up the network through auto failover to a 1Gbps back up. Site-to-Site to connectivity is achieved through its unique speed-fusion technology, offering 256AES military encryption.
Birstall was decided as the first deployment of the Siklu 8010 wireless carrier grade radio platform. Delivery of 10Gbps to Birstall upgrades all of its rural Points of Presence and the existing carrier grade radios are automatically upgraded to 2Gbps.
The ongoing focus for XPON Wireless is to offer Leicester city 10Gbps connectivity, targeting under resourced Student Accommodation and Business centre. With BT having around 200, 10Gbps customers in Leicester, the average cost of this kind of connectivity can be as high as £2750 per month. Business customers can now choose from a range of special introductory packages , starting with a 48-month price of £500 or 60-month service of £450 per month. The service includes a carrier grade radios, 10Gbps router and installation, reducing the capital cost of install which is normal £15,000.
2Gbps Wireless Network Deployed in Keyham Leicestershire
XPON Wireless today launches its 2Gbps wireless network in the village Keyham. 55 residents now have access through a 2Gbps service to 1Gbps wireless. Delivered through our 60Ghz wireless platfrom, the service offers 100Mbps to 1Gbps in speed packages. Acording to Sam Knows the village is still only connected to Fibre-to-the-cabinet, generally speeds of 80/20Mbps. The syncronous 1Gbps/1Gbps puts customers in the fast lane and will not longer need to wait for their village to be upgraded to fibre.
Ultra-Fast Office-to-Office Network
One of XPON Wireless largest customers is an international book distributor based in Leicester. The project deployed in 2021 involved connectivity to a main distribution site in Beaumont leys. The initial installation included connecting up to 1000 Cat6 data points and delivery of 1Gbps broadband. As we deployed the service we also rolled out the service into their legacy offices and a further 9 other locations.
The deployment was created using the Peplink Balance platform and supported multi-link failover including cellular at the distribution site. The challenge then was posed in connecting a SQL database between their sites. The Speed fusion MPLS replacement solution built into the Balance platform allowed us to create 600Mbps site-to-site private links. Data passing between the sites were private, encrypted and on network, meaning they were more secure and didn’t hit the Internet between sites.
